You call this music and the best of the year? If this is the BEST of the year, then the world of music is in SERIOUS trouble. MCR sucks big time and so do all the others listed here.

These albums are examples of what a degraded society we have. They show nothing but horrible role models.

That's what all these albums are. Seriously, don't you people like stuff that you didn't hear on Top 40 radio or read about in some moronic magazine like Blender or Rolling Stone? At least surprise us with the picks (None of which were very good except for Dylan and Gnarls).
Oh, and the album of the year was Yo La Tengo's "I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your A**." |

Should be Carrie Underwood, but with the choices shown, Gnarls Barkley should win hands down.

...but they don't exactly cover the best....first off, anyone who thinks what JT is doing is creative or original needs to break out their old copy of 'Thriller' or "Purple Rain", it's okay to borrow styles but he so clearly wants to be Michael Jackson circa 1981or Prince circa any year, it's actually very annoying. This sound was creative--for the people who actually created it. As for the Killers, Sam's Town is a good record. Period. They show influences of other bands, but unlike JT, they actually make the sound their own. It's sad that some of the people here have jumped on the hypocrital band wagon of Rolling Stone magazine...which by the way have taken back some of the negative remarks they made about Sam's Town in their own stuck-up round about way. It's certainly not the worst cd or deserving of the critical bashing it's getting in comparison to this crap being played on the radio today.
My Chemical is good too, but I don't see their record as a redeeming recording for the Killers or any other band actually. There are plenty of good cds out there and better. Has anyone listened to Muse or Artic Monkeys this year? If so, they would know that they need to be on this list--that's why I've added them to the 'should be list'. Oh, and for all those who keep harping on Tv on the Radio, their good, but they ain't all that. The Red Hots record is good too, but not their best....I've yet to hear Pinks cd and I actually had a hard time getting into the whole Gnarls Barkley cd although I found some songs enjoyable. |
